i don’t like a lot of different fruits, but plums are one of my favorites! They are so very sweet with just a hint of sour to make my lips pucker a little, so fun! They even turn into a great dried fruit called prunes, that i have heard are a favorite amongst us older folks.
Plums remind me of a children’s rhyme my mom used to tell me around this time of year. i believe it was called “Little Jack Horner”. He was eating a Christmas pie and he stuck in his thumb and pulled out a plum and said “What a good boy am I!” Hmmm, i wonder what his mom thought?
Such a great fruit to bake with too! There’s plum pudding, plum pies, plum cake and muffins, and my favorite is plum jam!
Love,
Lea.
